Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions form a legally binding contract between you and The Burton. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before purchasing anything from this website.

  • When you place an order with us you are making a firm contract with us to buy goods. Payment is taken by a secure payment method at the time you place the order. In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, we will advise you of this & refund you in full.
  • When you order you will need to give your name, address, delivery address (if different), email address & telephone number.
  • In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will contact you so that you may choose between a refund on the item, having it shipped when it is back in stock or selecting an alternative product.
  • Orders are accepted at our sole discretion and we maintain the right to decline orders without giving an explanation.
  • All ordering is in English & all prices are stated in GBP.
  • All prices are inclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.
  • We can accept all visa, master cards & debit cards. You can also pay via PayPal. Unfortunately, we do not accept American Express.
  • We reserve the right to decrease and increase the prices of products without notice due to circumstances beyond our control.
  • All delivery dates are approximate, once the product has left our warehouse the time it takes to arrive to you is beyond our control, therefore, we cannot be held accountable for a slow delivery but will always do everything we can to track your order
  • All sizes and measurements are approximate and may vary slightly between each individual item.
  • Colours shown on this website are shown as accurately as possible although the viewing experience may vary due to a number of factors such as the computer screen you are using and the display settings that are in place. Colours may also vary between individual items because often the dyes & paints that are used are made by hand.

Cancelling your order

If you wish to cancel your order please contact us as soon as possible by email shop@theburton.org or call 013237 471455, if your order has not yet been shipped we can cancel your order and issue a refund straight away. If it has been shipped then please allow for the item to arrive then return using the following method:

We will then issue you a refund, upon receipt of the goods, providing they are in the same sellable condition that they were sent to you in.

Refunds will be issued within 14 days of receipt of the returned goods. A refund will be issued for postage paid only when the item is found to be defective or incorrectly supplied from the original order. If you fail to return goods at your expense, the Burton at Bideford shop reserves the right to charge the direct costs for their recovery and may offset that amount against any refund due.

You are responsible for covering the return postage costs. We recommend that you add insurance as we are not responsible for any damages that may occur during transit to us.

Deliveries & Returns

Delivery options

FREE In-Store Collection

Shop online from the comfort of your home for collection from 12pm the following day, Monday – Saturday only (12pm-4pm). Orders made on Saturdays will be available from the Monday for collection. Items are held for 7 days.

Tracked Service £4.10 within the UK only

Signed for to ensure safe delivery.

Items from our Craft Gallery within the UK only

Large items or prints from our Craft gallery can be collected for free in-store or delivery details/costs will be displayed when the item is in the basket.

Delivery Times

We aim to dispatch orders within 48 hours on a 3-5 day delivery service when ordered before 1 pm, but we always advise our customers to allow 7 working days for delivery from dispatch. Please note when ordering on or before a bank holiday there may be a slight delay with delivery.

Please note due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic there could be delays in deliveries timings due to reasons beyond our control. For example local lockdowns.

Items from our Craft Gallery including large items, ceramics and prints please allow up to 14 days for delivery.

Part Deliveries

If you have ordered more than one item, from time to time we may have to deliver your order in separate shipments. Regardless of the number of deliveries you receive, you’ll only be charged the amount that was originally quoted to you at the time you placed your order. All delivery charges will be charged to you on the first order/delivery, any dispatch of a parcel thereafter to complete your order will be free of charge.

Refunds & Exchanges

If you aren’t completely happy with your order you can return it to us in its original condition within 28 days for an exchange or full refund, excluding original postage costs. If the item had been damaged or the packaging is not in perfect condition you may not be eligible for a full refund.

Due to hygiene reasons, earrings are non-returnable unless faulty.

Faulty Items

If you believe your item is faulty please contact us immediately on 01237 471455 or email shop@theburton.org and we can advise you on the next steps to take. Please do not attempt to fix the item as this may affect your entitlement for a refund or exchange. If the item is agreed to be faulty all further costs arrangements and costs will be covered by us.

Once the faulty item has been received we will contact you to discuss whether a refund or replacement will be issued.

Exceptions

Please note: items excluded from this policy are items that are made to your specifications or clearly personalised; perishable or edible items such as flowers or chocolate; and items which have been sealed where the seal is broken. These items are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged unless they are faulty or damaged.

Payment

Payment is taken from your card once your order is placed and you have received your email confirmation.

Any refunds granted will be credited to the Debit or Credit Card used at the time of order processing. Once we receive the item(s), we will issue a refund or replacement(s), whichever is requested and depending upon availability.

Workshops

Any workshops booked directly through the Burton at Bideford or via our Eventbrite page are non-refundable if cancelled within 48 hours before the workshop is due to commence.
