Want to help shape new public art in Bideford? Torridge District Council has teamed up with public art organisation Company, Place and award winning artist duo Supergroup on a series of creative projects in Bideford Town Centre, and they’re looking for young people (age 16-22) to get involved. The project is being funded by the UK Government through the Shared Prosperity Fund.
Across four creative, hands-on workshops in November 2025, young people will be able to work with professional artists, offer feedback and ideas, develop skills and help shape what ends up in the town.
Everyone who takes part will be paid for their time (£10 per hour) and invited on a fully-funded trip during the first half of 2026 to check out the arts and crafts scene in another town or city in Devon or nearby.
Community voices are at the centre of this project and it is an amazing opportunity for young people to learn playful creative techniques such as collaging and maquette making, as well as deepen their connection to local identity and see their ideas come to life in public spaces.
Dates: 21–23 November 2025
Location: Space, Bideford Youth Centre, Kingsley Rd, Bideford EX39 2PF. Activities will also take place at The Burton at Bideford.
