The Burton at Bideford is working with The Pickwell Foundation to run a photography project with a group of refugees and individuals navigating the asylum process.

We are looking for a socially engaged photographer based in the South West to facilitate the workshops. The aim is to support creative health and social connection through the teaching of photography skills, allowing individuals to explore the language of photography to tell their story.

There is no specific theme for the project; we encourage that it comes from conversations with the group.

The appointed photographer will deliver 10 creative workshops, which will take place at The Burton, and will be supported by staff from The Pickwell Foundation and The Burton’s Learning & Engagement Team. The work produced will be part of an exhibition in 2026.

This project is funded by The Foyle Foundation.
