In our seventy-fifth year, the Burton’s Permanent Collection has grown, evolved, and inspired – shaped by the vision of Artist Hubert Coop and the creative circle that surrounded him.
Hubert Coop and Friends: A Legacy of Art and Influence welcomes you to explore our rich history through a curated selection of 75 artworks and objects that represent the heart of the Burtons’ Collection.
This exhibition offers a glimpse into the foundation and development of the collection: from the early collection that set its direction, to the relationships and artistic exchanges that helped define its character.
Through paintings, drawings, and objects, you will discover how Coop’s influence – both as a working artist and influencer – wove itself into the museum’s identity and continues to inspire the next generation.
