Author Talk: The Green-Wood Carver

With Samuel Alexander

2pm–3pm | £12

Discover the healing power of whittling as Samuel Alexander shares his own compelling story. Samuel first started whittling as a way to help him recover from depression, discovering that it not only lifted his mood but also yielded beautiful keepsakes like spoons, bowls and ornaments. With his thoughtful reflections on the joy of small movements and personal creativity charmingly woven throughout this how-to guide, Samuel’s aim is not only to teach you how to create a beautiful object but to find the beauty in the process itself.

This talk has been organised in collaboration with the Appledore Book Festival. General public booking opens on Saturday 26 July at 9am.
