Juneau Projects Exhibition Now Open

The Burton's latest
exhibition 'The Most Faithful Bearer of Man's Message' is now open in the
recently updated gallery 3 (previously the Ceramics Gallery). Created by their
artists in residence Juneau Projects, the exhibition features a beautifully
illustrated publication which includes work created by the local community and
is inspired by the internationally significant RJ Lloyd Ceramics Collection
which forms part of the Burtons Permanent Collection.

Juneau Projects was formed
in 2001 by Philip Duckworth and Ben Sadler who work across a broad range of
media including painting, sculpture and installation. They have had a number of
high-profile exhibitions including PS1 New York, Tate Britain, J P Getty Museum
in Los Angeles, and Echigo-Tsumari Triennial in Japan.

Over the last 6 months, Juneau have worked with over 475 people including visitors, artists, schools and local organisations to produce an illustrated publication which celebrates the RJ Lloyd ceramics collection. The publication features prints, collages, illustrations and cut-outs which have all been made by visitors – many of which are also on display in the exhibition alongside the ceramics that inspired them.
