This exhibition delves into the Burton’s Permanent Collection and brings you its highlights as seen from new and contemporary perspectives.

Over the course of six months, three community groups have had the opportunity to learn about, and actively engage with, works from the Collection: Women’s First; Devon Recovery Learning Community; and the Burton Young Photographers.

Under the expert guidance of the Burton’s Learning and Engagement team, participants were invited to explore their own personal stories in relation to the works in the Collection, revealing new interpretations that are keenly relevant to contemporary society. Through the process, participants learned a range of creative practices and skills, including printmaking, photography and collage, which broadened the scope of their expression and enabled responses to the Collection to be highly personal.

This exhibition will enable you to see treasured works from the Burton’s Permanent Collection while also highlighting the importance of art and creativity to mental health and well being.

You are warmly invited to the launch event on Friday 26 May, 6-8pm.
