Caroline Curtis

Caroline’s work is a continuation from leaving Loughborough Art & Design College in 1997. All of Caroline’s pottery is hand thrown in red earthenware clay.

The decoration is either hand painted or created with poured slip. The black lines and the writing on the corms are formed from a dry slip, which has the technique of mono printing onto the leather hard surface. A transparent glaze is used after biscuit firing of the painted pieces.

Inspiration for the decoration comes from the love of bright, bold colours and contemporary textiles and paintings.
