Portraiture is photographing people. It is saying something about them, getting under their skin, describing something visually, which could have been experienced, through other emotions. A good Portrait will not necessarily flatter the subject, but will reveal truth about them.
Using your own digital camera and Diane Arbus’ portraits as inspiration, this workshop will lead you through the process of creating a better portrait. You’ll be using the natural light Arbus was so fond of and learn how to use your camera flash effectively as she did in her later work. The workshop will support those who are complete beginners to the more experienced, as the day will be tailored to student’s requirements.
