I’ve worked for the Burton since 2008 and enjoy looking after such a prestigious venue. I’m originally from Ely, Cambridgeshire but moved to North Devon when I was 11. I love the countryside and have a small holding of pigs, chickens and other animals. My favourite artist is the experimental sculptor Eva Hess.

I’ve worked at the Burton for the past 16 years and have developed a real love for the gallery’s collection and its history. Having a background and passion for natural history, and in particular ‘Plein air’ wildlife art, much of my spare time is spent painting and discovering wildlife in my local area. I live in Westward Ho! with Emma my wife and three children, Reuben, Vaughan and Moses and our ‘Sprocker’ spaniel, Hugo.

I enjoy being part of The Burton team, it’s a creative, warm environment where I can be my usual chatty, humorous self. I run the building day to day, do admin for the whole service and am ‘mum’, making sure everyone is ok!
I’m from Bideford and love the Devon scenery and being 10 minutes from a beach or cliff to walk. I love swimming and cream tea eating (which is a sport, right?), and two of my favourite artists are Trevor Price and John Duffin.

I moved to Devon to be around the stunning surroundings. I love coastal walking and this area is stunning to get inspiration from for my other love, writing children’s books.
At the Burton, I have the brilliant task of promoting all our events, exhibitions and workshops. I’m creative, so working in a gallery is inspiring. I’m originally from Weymouth, Dorset but have lived all over the world; I now have a house in Bideford with my girlfriend and two black kittens, Sherlock and Watson. My favourite artist is Lowry.

I look after the finances of The Burton and, born in London, I moved to Devon with my husband two years ago. It’s a peaceful place, with sunsets and sunrises to die for. When I‘m not working I enjoy sewing, painting, crafts and reading and one of my favourite artists is Paul Klee.

I moved to Devon six years ago with my husband and have been working at The Burton since 2015, helping visitors. I enjoy the friendly team, meeting lots of different people and the constant access to yummy cakes from Café du Parc.
I’m from Exeter but enjoy North Devon as it’s full of amazing beaches, wild, rocky cliff paths, fresh air and big smiles. Life outside of work is taken up by a fun, cheeky little dog called Nate Dogg. My fave artists are Peter Lanyon, Gustav Klimt and I love photography by Diane Arbus and Martin Parr.

I love interacting with customers and helping them find gifts. The team here at the Burton are friends as well as colleagues, so we make each day as fun as possible, although we eat too much cake!
I’m from Bideford and love the Bucks Mills beach, the woods and exploring National Trust properties. There are so many places for our children to play and enjoy a picnic. I love the work of Gillian Ayres

I’m one of the friendly faces at the front desk. I was born in Australia but grew up in the glorious countryside of North Devon, where a lot of my spare time is taken up with exercising an energetic puppy. Amongst the art here at the Burton, I love the watercolours of Judith Ackland and Mary Stella Edwards and paintings by David Hockney and Lucian Freud.

I‘m married with two sons and am a smiley, happy person. I enjoy working at the Burton, especially interacting with visitors that come to see our fabulous exhibitions.
I’m originally from Hayes, Middlesex but love the coastline and wonderful views, the very friendly people and – most importantly – the Devon cream teas!
Artists I love include Georgia O’Keefe – I’m inspired by her vibrant colours because I’m currently studying Art and Design at Petroc College.
